I have officially started production of Fictions. I've actually started the layout process, done a simple cover concept (as seen in pic), and working on printing out a couple of sample copies. More importantly however, I've gotten together a mailing list of a small number of friends and acquaintances whose input I respect and have already started sending them stories for their comments/criticisms. You know yourselves if you're on the list, and if you're not, feel free to indicate your interest by sending me a mail at ruel.johnson@gmail.com.
I seem to be making me deadline on this project, and it is feeling exhilirating. I can actually plan something and see it through - something I have to keep in mind for my next marriage. Seriously though, both phases of the production process on Ariadne & Other Stories, my first book of short fiction, were typical Ruel Johnson hectic hell. The manuscripts were submitted to the Prize the day of the deadline - I personally put them into Al Creighton's hands as he was leaving his office for day. This is going to be nothing like that. Wish me luck.
