Reading Borges for inspiration and found this gem of a quote in a story called "The Secret Miracle".
"Like all writers, he measured the achievements of others by what they had accomplished, asking of them that they measure him by what he envisaged or planned."
How true, even of this writer. There is a treasure trove of Borges' wisdom over at Wikiquote, but there is no substitute to exploring the rich and virtually infinite labyrinth of his work as a whole.
